Bonifay residents arrested for smuggling contraband

[CONTRIBUTED]

On September 18, 2024, officers from the Bonifay Police Department initiated a traffic stop on a red Pontiac due to a defective headlight and the vehicle’s failure to maintain a single lane of travel. Consent to search the vehicle was voluntarily provided, leading to the discovery of drug paraphernalia coated with a white residue, which later tested positive for cocaine. This finding prompted a probable cause search, resulting in the arrests of William Jenkins, 65, and Becky Jenkins, 58, both residents of Bonifay.

William Jenkins has been charged with possession of narcotic equipment, destruction of evidence, and smuggling contraband into a detention facility. Becky Jenkins faces the same charges, in addition to possession of cocaine.
