Angela Trim
John Cobia
Wilton Archer

A traffic stop conducted by the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) February 18 resulted in the arrest of three individuals and the seizure of a significant amount of methamphetamine.

Deputies pulled over a black Dodge Charger on Highway 2, where the driver, John Cobia, admitted to attempting to evade law enforcement by pulling into a private residence. A records check revealed Cobia had an active warrant out of Holmes County.

The two passengers, Angela Trim and Wilton Archer, were also found to have legal issues. Trim had an outstanding warrant out of Jackson County, while Archer was on state probation.

A probable cause search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a meth pipe, marijuana, and approximately 76 grams of methamphetamine. According to HCSO, when questioned, all three suspects denied ownership of the drugs, each attempting to shift the blame onto the others.

Cobia was charged with trafficking in methamphetamine (over 28 grams), possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, an outstanding warrant, and loitering and prowling. Trim faces the same charges, including her outstanding warrant. Archer was charged with trafficking in methamphetamine (over 28 grams), possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, violation of state probation, and loitering and prowling.

The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the case.
