Haylee Nallick is HCHS’s JROTC Cadet of the Month

Each month, the Holmes County High JROTC program chooses a cadet that excels above his or her peers in academics and classroom participation to represent the Blue Devil Battalion as the Cadet of the Month. April’s Cadet of the Month is Cadet Sgt. Haylee Nallick. 

Nallick is a member of the HCHS JROTC program’s 6th platoon. Nallick is a sophomore, which is the busiest and most stressful year of high school. She is a member of the Blue Devil Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA). Her expertise in leadership and academics helps her excel in the FCCLA body as a whole. She is also a member of the Blue Devil’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) team.

In the Blue Devil Battalion, 1st Sgt. Randy Burlew said Nallick fits in well and gets along with everyone. She is a very motivational and kind-hearted person. One of her hobbies is going on nature walks where she can exercise and enjoy nature’s beauty. Another hobby is crafting. In crafting, Nallick expresses her creativity and joy in creating new things. She also loves hanging out with her friends to relax. Her favorite teacher is Whitney Riley who teaches Algebra II, while her favorite class is JROTC.

After high school, Nallick wants to attend Florida State University where she will work towards becoming a chemical engineer. She always strives to finish her work and even get ahead at some points. In JROTC she is the battalion adjutant. Her job is to maintain and update all of the cadets’ personal data sheets, process award and promotion orders and construct numerous types of certificates. The Battalion XO has stated that, “Nallick is my hardest working staff member, and I think she is well-deserving of the Cadet of the Month award.â€

Burlew congratulates Nallick and thanks her for all of her support and hard work she has accomplished to make the Blue Devil Battalion a success.
