A Bonifay man was arrested Sept. 21 by a Holmes County SheriffÂ’s deputy after the man allegedly tried to hit a woman with a moped during a domestic violence incident.
The deputy responded to a call on State Road 79 in Esto and made contact with the complainant who stated that an individual identified as Terry Peacock had been physically violent with her earlier in the day and later tried to hit her with a moped as he left.
The deputy located Peacock driving the moped and conducted a traffic stop. A check with dispatch revealed that Peacock had an active Holmes County warrant, a suspended driver’s license and had failed to register the moped.
Peacock was taken into custody. A search of his person produced a small baggie of methamphetamine in his pocket.
Peacock was charged with domestic violence battery, possession of methamphetamine, driving while license suspended or revoked and failure to register a vehicle.
