HCSO conducts active shooter training

BONIFAY
– The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office and school guardians at Bonifay
K-8 participated in active shooter training on July 22.
The training was led by Major Michael Raley.

Sheriff John Tate says he is grateful for the teamwork between HCSO and the Holmes District School Board. “We
have a great working relationship with the school board, faculty and
staff and I couldn’t be more thankful for that,” said Tate.

Tate also said that preparation is key in any dangerous situation.

“While
I certainly hope that Holmes County never has to experience an active
shooter scenario,” said Tate. “The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office is
dedicated to training
which will ensure we are prepared should the unthinkable happen.”
