Westville man succumbs to injuries sustained in crash

According to the Florida Highway Patrol the driver involved in the accident has since passed away as a result of his injuries.

 

A 74-year-old Westville man is in critical condition after losing control of his vehicle on Highway 90.

On the morning of February 7, the man was traveling eastbound on Highway 90 where he was negotiating a left curve and traveled onto the south shoulder of the road. The driver over-corrected back to the left which caused the truck to rotate counterclockwise.

The truck began to rollover in a southeasterly direction causing the driver to be ejected as it overturned. The vehicle came to a final rest on the south shoulder facing north, the driver came to final rest on the south shoulder facing west.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol the man was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

FHP was assisted on scene by Holmes County Sheriff’s Office, Washington County EMS, Westville and Ponce de Leon Volunteer Fire Departments.
