Two charged with grand theft

Two Holmes County men are charged with grand theft after stealing a motorcycle and causing extensive damage.

Holmes County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on Highway 171 after a call concerning a stolen motorcycle on March 8.

The victim told HCSO that Emmanuel Shelton came to his home and hooked a rope around his motorcycle and drug it down the road, reportedly causing $2,000 in extensive damage to the vehicle.

Bonifay Police Department located Shelton and other witnesses at a residence in Bonifay. HCSO deputies interviewed Shelton and the witnesses and confirmed that Shelton and Paul Leitner had taken the motorcycle without permission and caused the damage.

Shelton and Leitner are charged with grand theft and felony criminal mischief.
