An Alabama man is in custody after leading Holmes County Sheriff’s Office deputies on a pursuit on April 16 while operating a four-wheeler on Highway 2.
HCSO attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the four-wheeler when the driver, later identified as Justin Williamson, of Geneva, Alabama, refused to stop and a pursuit ensued.
The pursuit continued on Highway 2 and onto Highway 173 then to the intersection of Bush Road and Baxley Road where it subsequently ended when Williamson lost control and wrecked.
According to HCSO, Williamson admitted to having stolen the four-wheeler from a residence in Holmes County just before the pursuit. A check of Williamson’s license found he had an active warrant out of Geneva County, Alabama and he did not have a valid driver’s license. A pat down search of his person found a loaded handgun and a pipe containing methamphetamine.
Williamson is charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, carrying a concealed firearm, possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia, grand theft of a motor vehicle, fleeing and eluding, reckless driving, knowingly driving without a valid license, and the out of state warrant.
