A Holmes County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) deputy conducted a traffic stop at the Tom Thumb in Ponce de Leon Oct. 5, which ended with two in jail on drug charges.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as Ashley Hardee of Freeport. The backseat passenger was identified as Cody Tullis of Ponce de Leon. The vehicle’s occupants consented to a search of the vehicle at the conclusion of the stop.
HCSO found a glass pipe and a small baggie of methamphetamine in a bag belonging to Hardee, according to a HCSO press release.
Tullis consented to a search of his person in which the deputy found a baggie of crushed pills and a glass pipe containing methamphetamine residue in the pocket of Tullis’s shorts.
According to HCSO, when the items were found, Tullis began to actively resist arrest. An additional deputy was able to assist in restraining Tullis who then became compliant to directions from deputies.
Tullis informed deputies that the crushed pills were Xanax, according to HCSO.
