Swerving driver arrested on meth charges

Erratic driving led to the arrest of a DeFuniak Springs woman for drug possession Oct. 5.

When a Holmes County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) deputy observed a vehicle traveling on Highway 179A near Skyview Lane swerving in and out of the opposite lane, he conducted a traffic stop.

The deputy made contact with the driver identified as Teresa Mount.

According to HCSO, Mount informed the deputy she drank a wine cooler and smoked marijuana earlier in the evening and that she did not have a medical marijuana card.

The deputy asked Mount if she had any drugs in the vehicle. Mount said she did and retrieved some marijuana for the deputy, according to a release from HCSO.

HCSO conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle which produced a small container of methamphetamine.

Mount is charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
