Students can celebrate the end of the summer at Teen Fun Night

Bonifay Fire Rescue, Bonifay Police Department, Waukesha Way, and the Holmes County Education Foundation are partnering to offer teenagers in the community a movie night before school is back in session. The free Teen Fun Night will be at the softball field across from Veterans park from 7-10 p.m. Aug. 2.

Teens can bring a friend and are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets for seating. Free snacks and inflatables are also planned as part of the event, which is specifically for older teens.

Police Chief Johnny Whitaker said, “We understand the safety concerns of having younger kids and older ones on inflatables together, so we decided to have a time dedicated to teenagers to mirror the Back 2 School Bash being held the following day.”

In addition, enrolled students in Holmes county will have an opportunity to enter in a drawing for a $100 gift card of their choice.

Teen Fun Night will also provide opportunity for police and fire department employees to connect with locals.

“We want our youth to feel comfortable coming to our police and fire department when emergencies happen and hope this event helps bridge that gap,” said Fire Chief Travis Cook.
