Bonifay police investigate homicide

UPDATE as of October 28 at 8:30 a.m. : Raby is in custody.

The Bonifay Police Department with assistance from the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office, State Attorney’s Office, and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement are investigating an incident that occurred between Friday October 25, and Saturday October 26, which led to the discovery of two deceased persons.

At approximately 12:02 am on Sunday October 27, officers received a call from family members regarding a welfare check on the occupants of the residence. Officers responded to the residence and were not able to get anyone to answer the door. A further inspection of the residence through an exterior window occurred, and officers were able to see a deceased person lying on the kitchen floor. Upon gaining entry to the home a second body was located in a bedroom within the residence.

Based on preliminary evidence found at the scene; the Bonifay Police Department is currently looking for Jesse Joe Raby for questioning.
