Training Captain Jack Griffiths was officially sworn in and promoted to the rank of Engineer at the Panama City Fire Department on December 17. Griffiths was pinned by his wife, Mandy, during the ceremony.

Griffiths’ journey into the fire service began at the Bonifay Fire Department (BFD), where he met them as a garage door installer and repairman with an interest in volunteering. That initial curiosity soon turned into a passion for firefighting, leading him to enroll in the fire academy.

Known for his dedication to learning and teaching, Griffiths leads BFD’s monthly training sessions, often sharing his knowledge both on scene and during station duties. In a press release, BFD credited Griffiths’ strong work ethic as a key factor in the success of the department’s on-duty position implemented in October, calling him “an asset no matter where he is or what he’s doing.”

Bonifay Fire Chief Travis Cook praised Griffiths’ commitment, saying, “It was an absolute honor to attend Engineer Griffiths’ pinning ceremony. To excel the way Jack has within both departments he serves is a true testament to his dedication to public safety.”

According to BFD, Griffiths continues to bring valuable skills and lessons back to Bonifay Fire Department, where his leadership and passion inspire those around him.
