The Holmes County High School Girls Weightlifting team competed at the inaugural Rural Girls Weightlifting State Championship in Wewahitchka bringing home several medals.
In the Olympic Division, Emma Meredith secured first place in her weight class. Jaelle Douceur, Mya Brewer, and Kiersten Womble each earned fourth-place finishes in their respective weight classes. In the Traditional Division, Emma Meredith again claimed first place in her weight class. Mya Brewer and Jaelle Douceur achieved third place in their respective classes.
Coach Kevin Womble highlighted the event, stating, “Three schools from Holmes County were represented, Holmes County High School, Ponce de Leon, and Poplar Springs. We are incredibly proud of the team and the hard work they showcase.”
