On Wednesday, October 1, three Holmes County Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) programs received special recognition from the Early Learning Coalition (ELC) of Northwest Florida for achieving “Above Expectations” for the 2025-2025 school year. Pictured is Bonifay K-8 VPK staff receiving a certificate in honor of the achievement from Jahn Jones, Education Services Manager for the ELC. The Florida Department of Education annually evaluates VPK programs based on three key components: quality of instruction, student achievement, and learning gains. Instructional quality is measured through VPK program assessments, while achievement and learning gains are determined using VPK FAST assessments. [CONTRIBUTED]

Bethlehem High School VPK was also one of the VPK’s recognized by the ELC for a grade of “Above Expectations”. [CONTRIBUTED]
Poplar Springs High School VPK also received a designation of “Above Expectations”, gaining recognition from the ELC. [CONTRIBUTED]
