The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office, led by Sheriff John Tate, hosted a heartfelt Veterans Dinner at First Baptist Church of Bonifay on Monday evening, honoring the men and women who have bravely served in the United States Armed Forces.
The evening featured a moving program highlighted by a special message from guest speaker Pastor Shelly Chandler, Lead Pastor of First Baptist Bonifay. Pastor Chandler spoke about faith, sacrifice, and service, reminding attendees of the courage and commitment that define America’s veterans.
Guests were also treated to a stirring musical performance by local talent Taylor Maples, whose heartfelt singing added an emotional and patriotic touch to the evening’s celebration.
Dinner was prepared by members of the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office staff and graciously served by seniors from the Holmes County High School JROTC, symbolizing the next generation’s respect for those who served before them.
Sheriff Tate expressed his gratitude to all in attendance, saying, “Our freedom exists because of your courage and sacrifice. Tonight is just one small way we can say thank you.”
The event offered an evening of fellowship, reflection, and community pride in bringing together veterans, families, and local leaders to honor those whose service continues to inspire Holmes County.
