Charles "Wade" Ellenburg

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed an executive order Friday, December 12, appointing Charles “Wade” Ellenburg to the District 2 seat of the Holmes County Board of County Commissioners.

A self‑employed farmer in Holmes County, Ellenburg has long been active in agricultural and community leadership. He serves on the Florida Farm Bureau Holmes County Board of Directors and the Florida Farm Bureau Fruit and Vegetables State Advisory Board. In 2025, Ellenburg was elected to the Holmes County Value Adjustment Board.

Ellenburg fills the unexpired term of Brandon Newsom, who was suspended from the District 2 seat earlier this year in the wake of felony charges related to Newsom’s alleged violation of Florida Statutes regarding bail bond agents.

Judge Lucas Taylor will officially swear in Ellenburg on Monday, December 15, at 8 a.m at the Holmes County Courthouse in Bonifay. The election for the seat is set to take place late 2026.
