On Friday, January 9, the Bonifay Police Department (BPD) responded to an incident, located at 2117 S Waukesha Street in Bonifay (Pizza Hut) in reference to a possible shooting. After preliminary investigation, the individual was found with no gunshot wound; however, they did sustain multiple lacerations to the body.
The individual was transported to a local hospital where he is listed in stable condition. The incident has since been classified as a suspicious incident and remains an active ongoing investigation.
According to the BPD, based on the investigation there’s no active threat to the community and further details will be released pending the conclusion of this investigation.
BPD expressed appreciation for the assistance from the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office, Bonifay Fire and Rescue, and Holmes County EMS.
