HCSO conducts active shooter response training with School Board Guardians

The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) conducted active shooter response training Friday, July 17, with members of the Holmes District School Board’s Guardian program.

According to the agency, the training focused on preparation and rapid response techniques designed to strengthen school safety. Sheriff’s Office personnel and Guardians worked together through scenario‑based exercises intended to improve communication, coordination, and readiness in the event of a critical incident.

The Sheriff’s Office noted that the partnership between law enforcement and the school district remains an important part of ongoing efforts to enhance the security of students, teachers, and staff.

Officials expressed appreciation to the Guardians, deputies, instructors, and school personnel who participated in the training.
