Holmes County High School welcomed students, businesses, and organizations from across the region on March 18 for its annual College and Career Fair, providing students with valuable insight into opportunities available after graduation.
The event, held in the school gymnasium, featured a wide range of representatives spanning higher education, public service, business, and the military. Students had the opportunity to interact directly with professionals, ask questions, and explore potential career paths.
Among those in attendance were the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office, Bonifay Police Department, and Holmes County Emergency Medical Services, all of whom offered hands-on demonstrations and information about careers in public safety. Community South Credit Union provided financial education resources, while representatives from the United States Armed Forces spoke with students about military service opportunities.
Colleges and universities, including Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and Chipola College, were also on hand to discuss academic programs and admissions pathways. The Florida Department of Transportation highlighted careers in infrastructure and public service, while Hamiltonville Farm Outdoors showcased nontraditional career paths through digital media and social media entrepreneurship.
Throughout the event, students rotated between booths, gaining exposure to a variety of industries and learning about both local and national opportunities available to them after high school.
School officials emphasized the importance of the annual fair in helping students make informed decisions about their futures, whether pursuing higher education, entering the workforce, or serving in the military.
