West Florida Electric Cooperative released the official results of its 2026 Board of Trustee elections later in the day Friday, April 17, following the conclusion of member voting.
According to the cooperative, members in District 6 cast a total of 2,981 votes across three candidates. George Clayton Owens received the highest number of votes with 1,412, followed by Danny Exum with 1,249 votes and Cullen Bailey with 320 votes.
In District 8, a total of 2,959 votes were recorded. Lance Medley led the race with 1,561 votes, while Jack Faircloth received 752 votes and Danielle Dubin garnered 646 votes.
In addition to selecting board representatives, cooperative members also voted on approving the minutes from the 2025 annual meeting. The measure passed overwhelmingly, with 2,661 members voting in favor and 86 voting against.
West Florida Electric Cooperative officials expressed appreciation to members who participated in the election process, noting the importance of member involvement in guiding the cooperative’s leadership and decision-making.
The cooperative thanked all voters for taking part in this year’s election and reaffirmed its commitment to serving its membership across the region.
