Observant deputy recovers stolen camper

An observant Holmes County Sheriff’s deputy recovered a camper trailer that was stolen out of Texas by a man and a woman who had warrants out of Tennessee and South Carolina on December 26.

The deputy was patrolling around the stores on Highway 81 south of Interstate 10 when he noticed something that didn’t look quite right about a vehicle towing a travel trailer pulling into a store. When the deputy ran the tag on the travel trailer, it came back as being registered to a Dodge pickup.

HCSO made contact with the occupants of the vehicle who gave the deputy their names. A check of the names came back with photos that did not match the occupants of the vehicle. When confronted with the discrepancies the driver provided HCSO with his real name, Jerry Lynott. Lynott was found to have active warrants out of Tennessee along with a suspended driver’s license. The female passenger provided the deputy with her true name, Amie Glorit, and warrant check revealed she had warrants out of South Carolina.

The deputy ran the VIN number on the camper where is was discovered the camper was stolen out of Texas. HCSO deputies performed a search of the camper and located a baggie containing meth residue and drug paraphernalia.

Both Lynott and Glorit was placed under arrest. Lynott was charged with giving false information, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while license suspended, grand theft, and outstanding warrants out of Tennessee. Glorit was charged with giving false information and the outstanding warrant out of South Carolina.
