Three members of Bonifay Fire-Rescue (BFR) have graduated from the Gulf Coast State College Fire Academy, completing the training required to begin their careers as certified firefighters.
The graduates, Tanner Steele, Talon Egelund, and Blake Hundley, were recognized by the department following the academy’s graduation ceremony. According to BFR, the three firefighters successfully completed the academy’s training program after months of classroom instruction, practical exercises, and skills evaluations.
Department officials said the graduates were supported throughout the program by experienced members of BFR, who provided mentorship and guidance during their training.
BFR stated that the academy graduates have demonstrated a commitment to serving the community and are prepared to continue their professional development as members of Bonifay Fire-Rescue.
Steele, Egelund, and Hundley will now continue their careers with the department, serving the residents of Bonifay and the surrounding area.
