A 75-year-old man from Bonifay died in a single-vehicle crash while traveling on State Road 79 on Saturday, Oct. 28.
The fatal crash occurred while the unidentified man was approaching 6th Ave.
“The SUV left the roadway on the west shoulder and the driver overcorrected and reentered the roadway,” a news release from the Florida Highway Patrol said. “This caused the vehicle to continue south on State Road 79 onto the east shoulder where the front struck a culvert. This action caused the vehicle to become airborne.”
The vehicle then hit a mailbox and turned on its side.
