On Tuesday, October 13, Holmes County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) deputies responded to RM Ward Road in reference to a report of a possible shooting, leading to the arrest of a Holmes County woman.
Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the victim, who had no visible injuries but reported that his sister, identified as Alda Jones, had allegedly fired several shots at him.
Deputies then proceeded to Jones’ residence. According to the sheriff’s office, Jones initially came onto the porch before returning inside and turning off the lights. Deputies later contacted her by phone and persuaded her to exit the residence.
During questioning, Jones reportedly admitted to shooting at her brother following an argument between the two. Deputies located a .22-caliber rifle and five spent shell casings during the investigation.
Jones was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a firearm with intent to kill.
