On Thursday, October 3, a significant milestone was reached as local leaders gathered
for the groundbreaking ceremony of the Senator George Gainer Government Efficiency
Complex. With a united effort, community representatives symbolically put their hands
on the shovels, turning the first soil for the project.
Senator George Gainer, the complex’s namesake, addressed the attendees with a
focus on the importance of supporting small-town communities. He expressed his pride
in being able to draw attention to the unique needs and aspirations of rural areas. “This
is about recognizing and investing in the future of small towns,” Senator Gainer stated.
Holmes County Commission Chairman Jeff Good highlighted the critical role that
Senator Gainer played in securing the funding required for the project. He
acknowledged the senator’s efforts and the essential support from Liberty Partners,
which also facilitated the construction of the new Holmes County Sheriff’s Office. “We
couldn’t have done this without the steadfast actions of Senator Gainer and Liberty
Partners,” said Chairman Good. “It was a collaborative effort, and I am elated to see this
finally come to fruition.”
Several county commissioners echoed their gratitude towards Liberty Partners and
Senator Gainer for their commitment to bringing this project to life. Their unified
message was clear: this endeavor was the result of persistent efforts and strong
partnerships.
Kalyn Waters, the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences
(IFAS) Holmes County Director, underscored the significance of the new complex to the
local agricultural community. “Agriculture is the lifeblood of Holmes County, and I’m
ecstatic to know that this building will be what carries that on for generations to come,”
Waters remarked. Her words emphasized the vital connection between the complex and
the county’s agricultural heritage, signaling a bright future for the region’s primary
industry.
