Student athletes of the week: Savannah Goodman and Koen Forehand

Koen Forehand and Savannah Goodman, both seniors from Holmes County High School, have
been recognized as the Student-Athletes of the Week by the Holmes County Advertiser
sponsored by Jump Street Inflatables. These two remarkable students excel in their respective
sports, academics, and leadership roles, earning admiration from their peers, teachers, and
community.
Koen Forehand, 17, is a standout multi-sport athlete with an impressive 4.3 GPA. He plays
center and defensive tackle for the Holmes County High School football team, showcasing his
strength and leadership on the field. In addition to football, Koen is also involved in track and
weightlifting, proving his versatility and commitment to athletics.
Koen is an active member of Senior Beta Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and Grace
Fellowship Christian Church. He also works at Big John’s BBQ, balancing his responsibilities
between school, sports, and work. After graduation, Koen plans to either pursue football at the
collegiate level or attend college to become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA),
combining his passion for sports and healthcare.
Koen’s parents, Chris and Staci Harrison, as well as Michael Forehand, have been incredibly
supportive of his journey, both on and off the field. Koen’s dedication to his goals and his faith-
driven lifestyle make him a role model for others in the Holmes County community.
Savannah Goodman, 17, is a senior at Holmes County High School and excels in both golf and
basketball. She plays as a shooting guard for the Lady Blue Devils basketball team, contributing
her skills and leadership on the court. Savannah is also an avid golfer and plans to continue her
golf career at Lipscomb University.
In addition to athletics, Savannah is deeply involved in various school activities, including the
Student Government Association, Yearbook Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and Beta
Club. Her well-rounded involvement in sports, academics, and extracurriculars highlights her
strong work ethic and leadership skills.
Savannah plans to pursue a degree in finance at Lipscomb University, aligning her academic and
athletic goals for the future. Her parents, Jeff and Marissa Goodman, have been instrumental in

supporting her throughout her high school career, and they are proud of the young woman she
has become.
Koen Forehand and Savannah Goodman exemplify the qualities of hard work, leadership, and
commitment, making them deserving recipients of the Holmes County Advertiser Student-
Athlete of the Week honor. Their dedication to their sports, academics, and their futures sets
them apart as role models for their peers and the community at large.
