Holmes County, FL – In a delightful addition to the community, the Dogwood Lakes Golf Course proudly announces the inauguration of its very own Little Library. The charming installation, brought to fruition on a sunny Friday, was graced by the presence of Holmes County Public Library (HCPL) Director Becky Marsh, Little Miss Holmes County, and esteemed local author Anne Rodgers.

Director Marsh, accompanied by the young and enthusiastic Little Miss Holmes County, ceremoniously unveiled the Little Library, filling it with a collection of books generously donated by Anne Rodgers. The spirit of community and the joy of reading were palpable as Rodgers expressed her excitement in contributing to this literary treasure trove.

Nestled within the serene landscapes of the golf course, the Little Library operates on a simple yet profound principle: “Take a book, leave a book.” This free, community-driven system invites visitors and locals alike to engage in the pleasure of reading and sharing. Whether you’re a golf enthusiast or simply passing through, the Little Library stands as an inviting beacon for all book lovers.

The establishment of this Little Library would not have been possible without the gracious support of Brandon and Heather Shelby, who generously permitted the placement of the library on their property. “We know the Dogwood Lakes area is an active community with multiple families that deserve something special for them to access closer to home versus going into town,” stated Heather Shelby. “With increased activity at the golf course, we decided to approach the library about having a little library in our area. We are thankful for wonderful community partners; especially to encourage and broaden our horizons through reading.”

Residents and visitors are encouraged to stop by Dogwood Lakes Golf Course, explore the Little Library, and immerse themselves in the enriching world of books. This new addition promises to be a delightful and enduring fixture in Holmes County, promoting literacy and community spirit for all.
