On January 28, 2026, at approximately 11:28 p.m. CST, Florida Highway Patrol troopers responded to a single-vehicle traffic crash at the intersection of State Road 81 and Paulsley Hill Road.
Preliminary information indicates the vehicle crossed the center line, left the roadway, and struck a ditch after a passenger fell from the vehicle.
The driver, a 20-year-old man from Ponce de Leon, sustained minor injuries, according to FHP. The passenger, a 38-year-old woman from Ponce de Leon, sustained fatal injuries.
There are no further details available at this time, and the crash remains under investigation.
