After frightening its way into the memories of Holmes County residents during its first four years, 10 Rooms of Horror is coming back and organizers say this year’s attraction will be bigger than before.
Holmes County High School Project Graduation is preparing for the return of the popular haunted attraction beginning Thursday, October 2, at 401 McLaughlin Ave. in Bonifay.
Organizers recently announced that construction on the rooms is nearing completion as volunteers prepare to welcome guests back inside.
“Our rooms are getting finished!! We are super excited to bring back 10 Rooms of Horror!” organizers wrote in a recent Facebook update.
Those who remember the attraction from its first four years may encounter a few familiar frights along the way. Organizers have been asking former visitors to share which rooms were their favorites while teasing that some of those past attractions could make a return this year.
But returning rooms aren’t the only thing waiting in the dark.
According to organizers, this year’s attraction has been expanded to include seven scare zones, along with several new elements that have never been part of 10 Rooms of Horror before.
“We’ve added 7 scare zones as well as some different things we haven’t done before,” organizers announced. “We can’t wait to see you all!”
The combination means visitors won’t necessarily have to wait until they step inside one of the 10 rooms for the scares to begin.
Beyond providing a Halloween attraction for the community, the event serves as a fundraiser for Holmes County High School Project Graduation, supporting efforts surrounding the graduating class and its end-of-year celebration.
Opening night is October 2, with additional nights scheduled for October 3, 10, 17, 24, 29 and Halloween night, October 31. The attraction begins at 7 p.m. each night.
Regular admission is $15, while a $25 Fast Pass will be available for visitors looking to shorten their wait.
With 10 rooms, seven additional scare zones, returning favorites and several surprises organizers aren’t revealing just yet, this year’s attraction is shaping up to offer both longtime visitors and first-timers something they haven’t seen before.
For those who made it through the first four years, the challenge is simple: Can you remember your favorite room and will you recognize it before it gets you this time?
