On June 23, 2024, a deputy from the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) executed a traffic stop on a stolen Jeep at a McDonald’s in Bonifay. This intervention led to the apprehension of two individuals and the discovery of illegal substances.
The driver, who initially provided a false identity, was later accurately identified as Melanie Jones. A subsequent computer check revealed that Jones’ driver’s license was suspended and that she had outstanding warrants for her arrest.
The passenger in the vehicle was identified as Adam Aaron, who also had outstanding warrants.
Upon confirming that the vehicle had been reported stolen from Plant City, Florida, officers conducted a search. This search resulted in the discovery of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and marijuana inside the vehicle. Consequently, both Jones and Aaron were arrested.
Melanie Jones is facing multiple charges, including Grand Theft Auto, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Providing False Information to Law Enforcement, Driving with a Suspended License, and Possession of Marijuana. Adam Aaron is facing charges of Grand Theft Auto and Possession of Methamphetamine.
The HCSO received assistance from the Bonifay Police Department, to whom they have expressed their gratitude for their support in this operation.
