Traffic stop in Holmes County leads to drug-related arrest

A routine traffic stop near Leonia resulted in the arrest of a local man after law enforcement officers discovered illegal substances in his vehicle, according to a statement from the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office.

A routine traffic stop near Leonia resulted in the arrest of a local man after law enforcement officers discovered illegal substances in his vehicle, according to a statement from the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident occurred when a sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was being operated without a license plate. During the stop, the deputy identified the driver as Jimmie Clelland. While speaking with Clelland, the deputy established probable cause to conduct a search of the vehicle.

The search yielded multiple illegal substances, including marijuana, a loaded methamphetamine pipe, and crushed Lortab. Upon being confronted with the findings, Clelland admitted to possession of the substances. He was taken into custody without incident.

Clelland is now facing multiple charges, including possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance.
