Courts step up COVID-19 protocols

The Chief Justice of the Florida Supreme Court on Thursday issued an administrative order directing circuits to modify and extend previously enacted temporary health and safety protocols and emergency operational measures for COVD-19.

On Friday, July 30, Chief Judge Christopher N. Patterson issued an administrative order for the Fourteenth Judicial Circuit outlining these protocols for all courthouses in Bay, Calhoun, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson, and Washington Counties.

Safety protocols include social distancing, screening at courthouse entrances, limited in-person hearings, masks to be worn in all courtrooms and hearing rooms for in-person court proceedings, and continued use of remote technology for some court hearings.

These protocols are effective Monday, August 2.
