FWC announced partial drawdown of Lake Victor
HOLMES COUNTY – The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) has announced the drawdown of Lake Victor beginning the first week of November and lasting through the first week of March 2022.
The partial drawdown will allow for inspection and/or repairs of water control structures and nuisance aquatic vegetation control. Residents may want to take advantage of this time to remove boats prior to the drawdown or conduct seawall and dock repairs while the lake is at a level to do so.
Victor is a 130-acre artificial impoundment in Holmes County. It was
constructed in 1966 and opened to fishing in 1968. Lake Victor has an
average depth of eight feet and maximum depth of 23 feet. The lake is in north Holmes County, south of State Road 2, approximately one mile west of the New Hope community. It is within easy commuting distance from Chipley, Bonifay, DeFuniak Springs and south Alabama.
