Georgia man jailed on multiple charges

A Georgia man is behind bars in Holmes County after a traffic stop by Holmes County Sheriff’s Office on April 8.

HCSO pulled a Dodge Ram pickup driven by Kenneth Star of Ellijay, GA, for a traffic infraction. While the deputy spoke with Star, K-9 Lasso conducted a free-air sniff of the vehicle and gave a positive alert to the presence of narcotics.

According to HCSO, Star stated there was marijuana in the vehicle that belonged to a juvenile passenger in his care. Star also admitted he allowed the juvenile to possess and use marijuana.

A probable cause search was conducted and revealed a clear bag in the back seat containing a small amount of marijuana and a pipe.



Also found in the vehicle was 1.7 grams of cocaine,1.5 grams of methamphetamine and a loaded handgun.

Star is charged with possession of cocaine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia and child neglect.
