HOLMES COUNTY – A West Palm Beach woman died as a result of injuries sustained Saturday night in a crash that occurred on Interstate 10 around mile marker 97.
Florida Highway Patrol reports a vehicle was traveling westbound in the inside lane around 7:45 p.m. when the driver traveled onto the inside shoulder of the road. FHP states the driver, a 40-year-old West Palm Beach man, then overcorrected back to the right. The vehicle traveled across both westbound lanes and onto the north shoulder and struck a tree before coming to a final rest on the north shoulder, facing southeast.
The driver sustained serious injuries, and his passenger, a 40-year-old West Palm Beach woman, was killed.
Florida Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by the Holmes County SheriffÂ’s Office, Holmes County EMS, Bonifay Fire Department, and Ponce de Leon Fire Department.
