Bonifay elections see incumbent and new council member seated


The City of Bonifay held their elections for seats 2 and 4 on March 22 and the results are in.

Seat 2 Incumbent Robert Urquhart retained his seat with 105 votes against challenger James Russell who received 102 votes.

Seat 4 that was held by Rickey Callahan had two vying for the seat, Judy Powell and Chuck White, after Callahan opted not to run again. White won the seat with 119 votes while Powell received 88 votes.

Of the 1,570 registered voters in Bonifay, 208 came out to cast their votes.

Both council members will be sworn in at the next regular session at 6 p.m. on  April 28.
