An Alabama man is facing gun charges after a traffic stop on March 29, in Esto.
A Holmes County Sheriff’s Office deputy initiated a traffic stop for speeding on Highway 79 of a silver Jeep driven by William Underwood of Alabaster, Alabama.
According to HCSO, Underwood advised he did not have a valid drivers license, that he had marijuana and a firearm in the vehicle that belonged to him.
A search of the vehicle located a bag of marijuana and a loaded pistol lying in the floorboard of the Jeep.
HCSO ran a computer check and found the pistol was stolen out of Alabama and Underwood’s status as a convicted felon.
Underwood is charged with driving while license suspended or revoked, theft of a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of marijuana.
