A Defuniak Springs man is still at large after a pursuit that began on April 12 yielded the arrest of his female passenger.
The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office received notification from the Defuniak Springs Police Department (DFSPD) of a vehicle pursuit that was crossing into Holmes County near Ponce de Leon. The occupants of the vehicle were later identified as the driver, Brian Grant, of Defuniak Springs and passenger Allison Knight of Cantonment.
An HCSO deputy arrived on scene at Highway 90 and Highway 10-A where the pursued vehicle has come to a stop. HCSO made contact with DFSPD who had placed Knight into custody for an active Escambia County warrant. Crystal like shards and a digital scale were in plain view in the vehicle according to HCSO. The crystal shards field tested positive for methamphetamine.
Knight is charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia.
Grant fled the scene on foot. Holmes and Walton Correctional Institutions K-9 teams joined in the search with HCSO but have been unable to locate Grant thus far. Grant is considered at large.
