Collard Fest returns to Ponce de Leon over weekend

The third annual Collard Festival was held Saturday, October 18 in Ponce de Leon, bringing a full day of fun and friendly competition. The event featured vendors, music, games, and contests for the best collard greens, sweet potato pie, cornbread, and pepper sauce recipes. Contestant Michelle Neal took home first place for her collard green recipe, as well as first place for her sweet potato pie and being honored with the People’s Choice Award. In addition to the cooking contests, the festival hosted a classic car show, with attendees voting on their favorite entry. Performers Kade Hill and Kiera Howell provided live music for attendees to enjoy throughout the day.
