Earlier today, investigators with the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO), in coordination with Alabama law enforcement, apprehended Landon Epley in Geneva, Alabama. Epley was one of three suspects identified in connection with a burglary that occurred on October 30 at a residence on Holiday Road in Holmes County, where 21 firearms were reported stolen.
Following Epley’s arrest, investigators located several of the stolen firearms hidden in a wooded area in Westville and are actively searching a site in Walton County for additional weapons. HCSO was also contacted by a citizen who reported purchasing a firearm that he believed to be one of the stolen guns. The individual fully cooperated with law enforcement, and the firearm was recovered.
The case began when deputies responded to the Holiday Road residence on Thursday, October 30 in reference to a burglary in progress. Through evidence collection and witness statements, investigators identified Epley of Geneva, Thomas Music of Bonifay, and Teresa Reeves of Hartford as suspects.
Music was previously arrested and charged with armed burglary and grand theft of a firearm. Reeves remains at large with active warrants for accessory after the fact to armed burglary and grand theft of a firearm.
The investigation remains ongoing, and additional arrests and recoveries are anticipated. Anyone with information regarding Reeves’ whereabouts is encouraged to contact the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office at (850) 547-3681 or Panhandle Crime Stoppers at (850) 785-TIPS.
