Holmes County native and author Adrienne Forehand has released Beneath the Magnolia, the first book in her new series titled The Holmes County Girls.
This opening installment follows a group of girls growing up in the Florida Panhandle and celebrates the values, humor, and resilience of small town Southern life. Rooted in the familiar rhythms of Holmes County, including front porch conversations, schoolyard friendships, and the deep sense of community that defines the region, Beneath the Magnolia blends Southern nostalgia with themes of faith, courage, and belonging.
“This story is deeply personal to me,” Forehand said. “It carries the heart of the place that raised me and the friendships that shaped my life. Holmes County will always be home, and these girls are pieces of that home.”
The series draws inspiration from Forehand’s lifelong friends Donna Walsingham, Penny Jones, and Tracy O’Steen. Their loyalty and laughter helped form the emotional core of the books. Each installment will follow the girls as they grow, face challenges, and learn what it means to stand by one another.
Beneath the Magnolia is available now on Amazon.
