On Monday, March 16, a Bonifay Police Department (BPD) officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Highway 79.
During the stop, further investigation led to the discovery of illegal narcotics and a firearm inside the vehicle possessed by the passenger, Visha Abrams.
Abrams was taken into custody and transported to the Holmes County Jail. Charges include:
• Possession of a controlled substance
• Resisting an officer without violence
• Tampering with evidence
• Possession of narcotic equipment
The seized substance field tested positive for ecstasy, and a firearm was recovered from the vehicle.
BPD expressed their appreciation of their officers’ dedication to keeping the community safe, and encouraged the public to report suspicious activity.
