By GARETT VALCOURTThe Esto Fire District Station 2 will officially become part of Holmes County Fire Rescue following a unanimous vote by the Esto Town Council, marking another step in the county’s ongoing effort to strengthen and unify fire protection services.
Holmes County Sheriff John Tate and Holmes County Fire Rescue Chief Jeff McVay attended a recent meeting of the Esto Town Council to discuss the vision for Holmes County Fire Rescue, answer questions from council members, and outline how the partnership would benefit the community.
Following the discussion, the council voted unanimously to bring the Esto Fire District Station 2 under the Holmes County Fire Rescue organization.
Sheriff Tate and Chief McVay expressed their appreciation to the Town of Esto for its confidence in Holmes County Fire Rescue and said they look forward to working alongside local firefighters and volunteers to enhance emergency response capabilities throughout the area.
County officials said the partnership reflects the continued effort to build a stronger, more coordinated countywide fire service while preserving the dedication, experience and community commitment of local volunteer firefighters.
The addition of Esto Fire District Station 2 is expected to further improve cooperation between departments, strengthen emergency response efforts and enhance fire protection services for residents throughout Holmes County.
Officials also welcomed the firefighters and volunteers of the Esto Fire District into the Holmes County Fire Rescue family, expressing optimism about the department’s future as it continues to expand its countywide mission of serving and protecting the citizens of Holmes County.
