Children at the Holmes County Public Library were treated to a special visitor on Tuesday, August 4, when Smokey Bear stopped by for an early celebration of his 82nd birthday. The visit, coordinated by the Florida Forestry Department, included a surprise birthday party with treats, wildfire prevention stories, and a meet and greet with Smokey. Youth attendees shared in the celebration by singing “Happy Birthday” to Smokey during his visit. The library expressed appreciation to the Forestry Department for making the visit possible and helping create a memorable experience for local families.
