A 50-year-old Westville woman was killed thursday morning in a three-vehicle crash east of Freeport, according to a release from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
Troopers reported the collision occurred at approximately 9:00 a.m. at the intersection of State Road 20 and Joe Campbell Road. FHP stated a 33-year-old Westville man failed to stop his pickup truck and struck two vehicles that were stopped on Highway 20. He and his 19-year-old passenger were not injured.
The impact caused the second vehicle, an SUV driven by the Westville woman, to overturn on the shoulder. She was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the third vehicle, a 39-year-old man from Dallas, Texas, was not hurt.
The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
