David Cunningham, a Holmes County resident and local business owner, has announced his candidacy for the District 4 seat on the Holmes County Board of County Commissioners.
Cunningham, a lifelong Florida resident, farms and grows timber on his land, something he says gives him firsthand knowledge of the hard work, dedication, and responsibility that define the people of Holmes County. Cunningham states that Holmes County is his home, and the Christian values of faith, hard work, honesty, personal responsibility, and service to others have guided his life.
As a farmer, businessman, and landowner, Cunningham says he understands the challenges facing working families, farmers, and small businesses because he lives them every day. He also says that he knows what it takes to work long hours, manage a business, care for the land, and make sound financial decisions. Those experiences have shaped his belief that county government should be accountable to the people, fiscally responsible, and focused on the priorities that matter most.
Cunningham believes taxpayer dollars should be spent wisely, infrastructure should be properly maintained, and county government should always put the citizens of Holmes County first. He states he is committed to protecting conservative values, defending constitutional rights, and preserving the rural character, farming heritage, and strong sense of community that make Holmes County such a special place to live.
Cunningham also notes that he cares deeply about the future of Holmes County and the people who call it home. He states that he wants future generations to enjoy the same opportunities, values, and quality of life that have made Holmes County a wonderful place to raise a family.
Cunningham believes it is time for a new direction in county government, stating that for too long, many of the same problems have gone unaddressed. He believes roads and infrastructure need attention, county services need improvement, and taxpayers deserve transparency and accountability in how their money is spent. He states he is committed to bringing common-sense leadership, fiscal responsibility, and a fresh approach focused on serving the people instead of maintaining the status quo. Cunningham says he would be honored to earn the support and votes from Holmes County voters as Holmes County Commissioner for District 4.
“Together, we can build a stronger future for Holmes County while preserving the values and way of life that make our community special,” said Cunningham.
