Traffic stop on Highway 90 results in drug, firearm charges

A traffic stop conducted by the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office on Monday, September 21 led to the arrest of a man after deputies allegedly discovered methamphetamine and a firearm during a vehicle search.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies stopped a vehicle driven by Richard Blair on Highway 90. During the stop, K-9 Timex conducted a free-air sniff around the vehicle and alerted to the presence of narcotics.

Deputies then conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle, which resulted in the discovery of methamphetamine and a loaded firearm. Authorities also reported finding methamphetamine inside Blair’s wallet.

Blair was arrested and transported to the Holmes County Jail. He was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
