An early mornging single-vehicle crash in Walton County took the life of a 27 year old Ponce de Leon man.
A Silverado pickup truck was traveling east on U.S. Highway 90 in the area east of County Road 183, when the driver, the vehicle’s only occupant, failed to negotiate a curve and lost control of the truck.
The Silverado traveled from the eastbound lane of travel, across the paved shoulder, and onto the unpaved shoulder. It continued on the unpaved, sloped shoulder for approximately .2 miles before colliding with a standing tree.
The Silverado came to rest in the area of collision. There was airbag deployment.
The driver of, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced deceased on the scene by Walton County Fire Rescue.
Next of kin has been notified.
