Alabama man arrested for meth trafficking in Holmes County

In the early hours of August 3, 2024, a Holmes County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) deputy was patrolling in the Peak Road area due to reports of illegal activity involving drugs. The deputy conducted a stop on a vehicle due to a traffic violation while in the area.

During the stop, the deputy observed probable cause to search the vehicle. The search revealed a black sunglass case containing a trafficking amount of methamphetamine, hidden in the headliner/sunroof area.

The driver, identified as Stephen Jones, confessed to possessing methamphetamine and was arrested on charges of trafficking in methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
